Made for the Kenney Game Jam!

You're in your worst nightmare- can you harness the  god's curses on humanity to escape it? Play this short-metroidvania to find out!

Please note that this game was made in 48 hours, and therefore might have a few bugs. In specific, if you get stuck in between an enemy and a wall, you will fall of the map. This can be resolved by holding 'P' to kill yourself. Don't worry- this will only take you back to the first room, with all of your score and curses still in tact!

In addition, please play the game in the browser, for better performance.

To be fair, if there is something as mighty as the gods, you should put a darker and foreboding theme to it. I dont think the chiptune happy theme really suits with being cursed by the heavens. There are a few issues I can point out besides that, but good concept.

Hi- this game was created in the Kenney Game Jam, and for some reason has recently gone "viral".

The storyline is way too abstract for my liking, and it pushed me down to 34th place.

Nonetheless, the story is that you've been cursed into a cave, where you have to face your biggest fears: heights, going to new places, not going to heaven, and ultimately, death.

Admittedly, I probably should've used a more appropriate soundtrack. I used Creative Commons music, and recycled my previous game's music for the boss and credits!

As for other issues, the game's a buggy mess, frontend and backend, and the death mechanic should teleport you to the latest upgrade.

If you have any other criticism, I'm happy to improve!

Great game, only problem I had was that on one of the levels a brown dude cornered me in a wall and I pushed into it, so I was just running in the wall.

Yeah, that happens: I didn't have the time in the game jam to patch it out!

That glitch is what led me to making 'P' rest the character.

nice

How do you even get past the part with what appears to be a boss? Is it even possible...?

Watch from 9:25

You should jump into the ceiling, sliding down multiple times.

oh sweet :o watching this i can see there's a timer, before i was getting so overwhelmed with little time to react or even examine my surroundings, so i had no clue what to do or what the goal was.

I was thinking it had something to do with those rust-colored blocks or the circles - since i had never seen them in the game prior. At least now ik i don't have to worry about those XD

In anycase, thanks! ^-^
